Yep, you read that right. It’s sleep quiz time!
British sleep expert, Dr. Chris Idzikowski, found that the position you sleep in can share traits about your personality. Considering we spend one-third of our life sleeping it makes sense that our sleeping body language shares an insight into who we are.
"We are all aware of our body language when we are awake but this is the first time we have been able to see what our subconscious posture says about us," said Dr. Chris Idzikowki.
As recognized by Dr. Idzikowki, there are 6 main sleeping positions that share an insight into different personality traits.
Let’s find out what these sleep positions are and what they reveal about your personality.
People who sleep in the log position sleep on their side with their arms and legs by their side. About fifteen percent of people prefer this position. What does this reveal about their personalities?
Log sleepers thrive in social situations and love to be surrounded by family and friends.
This is the most popular sleep position. Forty-one percent of people say they sleep on their side with their legs curled up towards their chest.
People who sleep in the fetal position may come across as shy, but very quickly will come out of their shell.
Only five percent of people sleep in the starfish position, which is on their back with both arms and legs outstretched.
People who sleep in the starfish position are loyal friends, they’re always around loved ones and try to avoid being the center of attention.
Thirteen percent of people sleep in the yearner position where they’re on their side with their arms outstretched as if they’re reaching for something.
People who sleep in the Yearner position tend to be extroverted and can easily take hold of a conversation. They tend to be indecisive but once they make a decision, they stick with it.
Seven percent of people sleep in the free faller position, on their stomach with their arms stretched out around their pillow.
Free fallers tend to be outgoing and extroverted but their loudness and assertiveness can sometimes be misjudged as a bit brash. They love to have company but tend to try to avoid stepping too far out of their comfort zone. They enjoy conversation but struggle with accepting criticism.
Eight percent of people sleep in the soldier position on their back with their arms and legs pinned to their sides.
People who sleep in the Soldier position tend to be easy going, quiet and reserved. They’re loyal friends and hold high standards for themselves and their loved ones.
