Blue Light Warriors, Sleep Advocates, Eyewear Experts.

We’re the people who want to help you get the best night’s sleep you’ve ever had.

Australian brothers James and Tristan Swanwick co-founded Swanwick after a lengthy battle with sleepless nights. They tried everything from herbal remedies, sleeping tablets, changed their diets, and overhauled their lifestyles before coming across research on blue light.

They designed prototype orange lens glasses and put them through an extensive testing process. The results exceeded expectations- they went from relentless tossing and turning to having the best night sleep they’d had in months.

They created Swannies Blue Light Blocking Glasses to help people across the world improve their sleep quality and live more fulfilling lives.

Swanwick history

Both James and Tristan had sleep problems until the day James’s friend rocked up to a fancy dinner party wearing a pair of ski goggles.

Yes, it looked as comical as it sounds. He certainly left a memorable impression on James. He did some research and discovered that blue light from electronics at night suppresses melatonin production, which happens to be the body’s natural process to prepare for sleep.

James tried wearing his ski goggles before bedtime and found the orange-tinted lenses worked like a charm. Although they reduced excessive blue light and James’s sleep improved, they didn’t block 100% of the blue light, and they were slightly less than fashionable.

James Swanwick is an Australian-American investor, entrepreneur, speaker, health coach and former SportsCenter anchor on ESPN.

He is the creator of Swannies Blue Light Blocking Glasses, and the 30 Day No Alcohol Challenge, which helps people reduce or quit alcohol.

Forbes magazine voted him one of the Top 25 Networking Experts.

James has interviewed celebrities including Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, Kobe Bryant, David Beckham, and Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Tristan Swanwick

Tristan Swanwick is an Australian entrepreneur, former journalist and co-founder of Swanwick.

After an extensive career in broadcast television, he worked as a reporter at News Corp’s The Courier-Mail newspaper in Brisbane, Australia. He left all this to co-found Swanwick.

More often found behind the scenes, Tristan was crucial in setting up relationships with manufacturers and creating the Swannies we all know and love.
