This study, published in the Environmental Health Perspectives Journal, was performed on approximately 2,000 breast and prostate cancer patients living in Barcelona and Madrid. The aim was to determine how artificial outdoor lights (such as street lamps) affected the participants’ health.
The results revealed the subjects who were exposed to higher levels of blue light had:
a shocking 1.5 times greater risk of developing breast cancer
an even more alarming 2 times greater risk of developing prostate cancer
